The Dream Walk Story
JOSHUA’S DREAM WALKS CONTINUE BUILDING COMMUNITIES WHERE DISABILITY DREAMS BECOME EVERYDAY REALITIES
Joshua, a young man with Down Syndrome, was inspired while watching a movie called “The Little Red Wagon” the Zac Bonner story. He told his parents, “I want to be like Zac.” Now, two dream walks later, Josh has walked over 428 miles or 1,070,00 steps.
Joshua’s two Dream Walks, combined with other fundraisers, have culminated into the remodeling and opening of the Joshua’s Java House and Community Life Dream Center in Radcliff, Ky. A place where every person, no matter their level of disability can come and feel included, befriended and empowered to become all the person they were created in Christ to be. The Community Life Dream Center is currently providing families with a Java House cafe setting and place they can come work, play, learn, grow and build meaningful connections in the context of community. At our new Dream Center location, families facing debilitating, challenging and traumatic life issues are finding empowerment, healing, inclusion and experiencing renewed courage to face challenging obstacles through life coaching, our clinical pastoral counseling model and team approach. Families who find their way to our cafe discover our Transformational Family Systems of Care; empowering them to live beyond disabilities and challenging life issues.
Our new facility is building their dreams by including our community in a shared vision that encourages cooperation at all levels; creating compassionate responses and opportunities to partner with families facing challenging life issues. Providing integrative, creative-design, environments where everyone’s disability dreams can become everyday realities. Joshua’s Dream Walks have allowed us to realize the remodeling and opening of our current Java House Cafe location. Now, our immediate goal is to raise the necessary funds to purchase property to build and move forward in the realization of the complete vision of opening and fully implementing our very own Joshua’s House and Community Life Dream Center location.
For this reason we are asking you to become a Joshua’s Friend today. Your partnership ensures that property can be purchased and a more permanent place for the Joshua House can be provided; for future families facing challenging life issues to have a place to come. Josh has already walked over a million steps to keep his dream alive for future generations! To move forward with obtaining our own property Joshua’s Friends for Exceptional Families Inc, is asking you and your family to partner with us today. We estimate we need approximately $250,000 to purchase an adequate location sustainable for the completion of our Community Life Dream Center. Without your sponsorship of Joshua’s Dream Walks we cannot guarantee future families will be served in the capacity they deserve to be. So please partner today as your pledge brings the property for our permanent Community Life Dream Center into sharp focus!
Joshua took 1,070,000 steps of faith so there could be a place where disability dreams can become everyday realities. Will you please take a step of faith and make a pledge to partner with Josh, so he can fulfill his dream for all of his friends and their families. All donations are tax deductible and you can designate your donations to the property fund or any of our creative-designed systems of care.
