WHY VOLUNTEER?
Volunteering at Joshua’s Friends is a great way to support healthy family growth & development and to give back to our community. Getting involved with us also provides opportunities to build greater self-awareness and leadership development skills. Volunteering is an excellent way to get experience as well, determining if you would be interested in possible careers within the family services field.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Special Events Volunteer – Volunteers 15 and older who work in various capacities to assist with recurring activities and special events that occur throughout the year. (This is a temporary volunteer position so the level of commitment is low.)
Group Volunteer – Small groups, families, friends, or organizations who volunteer as a group during special events or to assist with special projects. (This level of commitment is low, groups work on small projects or events.)
Transformational Family Systems of Care Volunteer – Volunteers that are students in high school or adults interested in ongoing volunteer opportunities allowing them to be more involved in the successful implementation of our Transformational Family Systems of Care. ( This level of commitment is medium, approximately 3-6 hours a week expected.)
Joshua’s Friends Community Care Specialist – The Community Care Specialist is a volunteer, with specific non-profit skills or the equivalent experiences, who wants to be part of a team specializing, enhancing and implementing our Transformational Family Systems of Care within the community at large. (This level of commitment is medium to high, approximately 8-12 hours a week expected.)
Counseling / Coaching Trauma-Informed Care Intern – Volunteer interns are those college or career level adults who have an interest in the counseling/coaching, soul care areas of ministry, or community service career interest. They are being trained for the express purpose of becoming involved in the Transformational Family Systems of Care, Trauma-Informed Models of Counseling and community care initiatives offered from Joshua’s Friends. (This level of commitment is high, requiring involvement in more rigorous activities.)
