In loving memory

Dr. TJ and Liz Kimble

Throughout their lives, they touched countless families, devoting their knowledge, empathy and time.

Named for Joshua

Dr. TJ and Elizabeth Kimble established Joshua's Friends for Exceptional Families in 2007, and named it in honor of their adult son, Joshua, who has Down syndrome.

Together they offered a variety of services, including pastoral counseling, behavioral workshops, a java house, special needs baseball, and community events.

Neither of them had an easy start. Dr. TJ lived through an abusive childhood, struggled with school and literacy, and became a homeless runaway before going on to become a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor. Liz grew up in a divided family and left home at 15 with her twin sister, later becoming a certified Temperament Life Coach. Those experiences shaped how they met every family: where they were, with dignity and respect.

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice.Isaiah 42:3
